GEMMA’S REMARKABLE LEGACY RECOGNIZED

On Saturday, October 29, 2022, Gemma Raeburn-Baynes, President
and Founder of Playmas Montreal Cultural Association, was honored as one of the 100 Most Influential Black Canadians, also known as the Influence List for 2022. This Excellence Awards Gala, held at the Meridian Arts Centre in Toronto, is presented by the 24-hour AfroGlobal Television channel in association with Silvertrust Media and the Transformation Institute in Toronto. Intended to identify role models for youth in AfroGlobal’s mentorship program, this inaugural annual list celebrates Game Changers of African descent in various Canadian public, corporate and community development spheres. Gemma’s remarkable legacy is being recognized as part of AfroGlobal mission to showcase the achievements of individuals, organizations, businesses, and agencies that make a profound difference in the lives of people of African descent. Montreal Community Contact extends congratulations to Gemma for her steadfast commitment for her community for over 50 years.
